Australian Intelligence Agency Funding Research To Merge Human Brain Cells With AI
Zero Hedge – Australia’s Office of National Intelligence, the equivalent of the US Director of National Intelligence, is funding a project to study ways of merging human brain cells with artificial intelligence. A team of researchers collaborating with Melbourne-based startup Cortical Labs received a $600,000 grant to merge biology with AI. The team has already demonstrated how roughly 800,000 brain cells in a Petri dish is capable of playing a game of “Pong.” “This new technology capability in the future may eventually surpass the performance of existing, purely silicon-based hardware,” said team lead Adeel Razi, an associate professor at Monarch University. “The outcomes of such research would have significant implications across multiple fields such as, but not limited to, planning, robotics, advanced automation, brain-machine interfaces, and drug discovery, giving Australia a significant strategic advantage.” Continue reading “Australian Intelligence Agency Funding Research To Merge Human Brain Cells With AI”
A mother of two, Rosanna Ramos says her virtual partner doesn’t “come with baggage. Rosanna Ramos, a 36-year-old woman from the Bronx, New York, claims she has “married”a chatbot after personally creating him on an online AI companion site last year. The mother of two says she prefers her virtual partner because he “doesn’t judge her.” In an interview with the Daily Mail, Ramos explained she had used an online app called Replika AI to create a male chatbot called Eren Kartal, who is loosely based on a popular character from an anime called ‘Attack on Titan’. 
Given enough time, artificial intelligence would completely dominate our society. AI technology has been growing at an exponential rate, and it can already perform thousands of tasks better than humans can. Eventually, there would be very few jobs that AI could not do more efficiently than we can. Just look at all the things that ChatGPT can do right now. There is no way that we can compete with that. As AI technology continues to become even more sophisticated, millions upon millions of jobs will be lost, and that will create a giant underclass of people that are simply not needed by society.
